Seethathode, the land of greenery on the eastern end of Pathanamthitta District, stretching from Chittar to Gavi is full of natural beauty. But the land was not blessed with educational institutions till 1961. In 1961Late Sri. Kalayil Ramapanicker, the vital personality behind the modern Seethathode, as part of his great vision and ambition thought for a educational institution. As a result of his industrious work, his accomplishment of dream came true in 1961- 62 with the advent of Seethathode U.P.School. The school was blessed with L.P.Section in 1962-63. In the following year the school was upgraded to Highschool (1963-64) In 2000-2001 academic year the Higher Secondary section was also granted. L.P, UP and High School sections were established in the rented, thatched roof buildings. In 1964-65 she had the great luck, to function in the owned buildings in the very first year itself. This reformatory institution established in an extent of more than 5 acres in the heart of Seethathode close to SreeMahadevi Temple. In 1961-62, with a strength of 150 students and ….. number of staff this Saraswathy Temple rose to its heights and glory and became the unavoidable part of Seethathode village. Today the strength has gone to 1500 students and 65 staff members. The whole process of growth and progress was lead by the foresighter Late. Kalayil Ramapanicker, the founder Manager of this institution. He was in his office till Jan 1975. In the same year Adv. V.R. Radhakrishnan son of founder manager took his as Manager, till now. It was his great venture, to start the Higher Secondary Section in 2000. The school was originally named as HSS, Seethathode and commonly known as "Kalayil Panicker's School throughout Kerala. Now it is known as K.R.P.M HSS, Seethathode, after the name of founder Manager.
